Ground-mounted solar panels are simply modules installed at ground level instead of on a roof. These systems function the same way; however, ground mounts may be more efficient if your home or business is not well equipped for a roof mounted system. Trees, chimneys, skylights, and the angle of your roof might are all possible factors for why a roof mounted system would not be efficient. Standard ground and pole mounts are the two most common systems in these scenarios. Standard ground mounts use metal framing driven into the ground to hold the panels up at a fixed angle. Pole mounts use a single pole elevated higher than a ground mount, with solar modules attached to the top.
