Who We Are

Seed was founded in 2009 by Cris Schrader, PE, to provide a professional one-stop-shop for solar, engineering, green building services, and installations while maintaining a personal customer service experience. Additionally, each project is unique, and we personalize our approach to each client’s needs.

Serving the Capital Region and Beyond

We serve the greater Capital Region (including the cities of Albany, Schenectady, Troy, and Saratoga). Our headquarters are in Troy, NY at the Rensselaer Technology Park.

A Socially Responsible Community Partner

A core value of ours is giving back. Likewise, this is demonstrated through our volunteer work in solar and clean water projects, in part with organizations such as To Love a Child, RPI’s Engineers for a Sustainable World, and RPI’s Engineers Without Borders.

Seed Solar's team of NABCEP Solar PV Installation Professionals and licensed Master Electricians provides high quality, professional Solar PV installations for homes, businesses, not-for-profits, and farms. Any Seed Solar installation includes full design, permitting, financing, and rebate services. Seed uses Made-in-USA solar panels and installs roof-mounted, ground-mounted, and pole-mounted solar systems.

Electric

Seed Electrical is equipped with well-trained professionals to take care of your residential or commercial electric needs. From completely new construction projects to small wiring repairs, our licensed electricians will have you up and running in a timely fashion. We also install electrical equipment such as generators and EV chargers. Because there is an emphasis on customer service and workmanship, your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Engineering

Seed Engineering is a professional engineering firm with an eye for sustainability. The professionals provide solutions to a broad array of civil and environmental engineering challenges, with an emphasis on energy efficiency and environmental friendliness. Seed Engineering offers services to meet the needs of residential, commercial, municipal, and non-profit clients.
